Patch version 1.0.4 notes

Greetings, Alchemists!

After an update full of lore and learning, Master of Cladia version 1.0.4 has arrived! This update focuses on quality-of-life improvements designed to make it easier for new players to get started.

Guest Users

Starting with version 1.0.4, it is no longer necessary to register an account to access single-player content (campaigns and quick matches).

The game will now start automatically and take new players directly to the main menu without requiring prior registration.

Additionally, a prompt has been added asking whether players want to start the tutorial immediately. Players may decline this option. The prompt will only appear the first time the application is launched after the update.

To access multiplayer matches, a registered account will still be required. Guest users will receive a notification informing them that they can register through the game's options menu.

With this change, we aim to make it easier for new players to try the game without registration, reducing initial friction.

Configuration Profiles

Alongside guest users, another quality-of-life improvement has been added: configuration profiles.

Starting with version 1.0.4, user settings will be stored locally. This means that switching users will no longer cause players to lose their list of favorite spells.

Each user will have an associated configuration file that will be loaded when the application starts or when switching users.

Upgrading a guest account to a registered account will also migrate the configuration profile to the new registered account.

Player Turn Status List

Sending your turn or entering a multiplayer match after your turn has already been submitted will now display a list of players in the match along with an indicator showing whether each player has submitted their turn.

Relevant Experimentation

Starting with version 1.0.4, Experimentation now costs 5 Concentration, but it can grant both positive and negative permanent effects to experimentation targets.

When creating a match, the effect of each ingredient will be randomly determined: one effect per target type.

Additionally, the reactivity between ingredients will be generated.

Ingredients may modify statistics or act as multipliers (x1, x4, x8).

In the coming weeks we will publish a more detailed guide explaining how to make the most of the new experimentation system, a mechanic designed to expand the importance of experimentation during the later phases of a turn.

New Negative Effect System for Dragons

The negative effect system applied when casting spells on dragons has been improved. Previously, all negative effects were applied with the same severity regardless of the accumulated percentage. Starting with version 1.0.4, the intensity of the effects will depend on the accumulated negative effect percentage.

Negative Effect Percentage Effect Intensity Approximate Duration
Low (< 20%) Mild 1 turn
Moderate (< 40%) Light 2 turns
Medium (< 60%) Moderate 3 turns
High (< 80%) Strong 3 turns
Very High (≥ 80%) Very Strong 4 turns

This change makes negative outcomes more consistent and proportional to the risk taken. Likewise, the severity of negative traits will now scale with the accumulated percentage. This prevents common cases such as receiving the temporary negative trait "Rebel" after failing a 3% roll.

Server Communication Changes

From now on, any communication with the server will display a notification informing the player that the game is performing an action, instead of freezing the screen as it did in previous versions.

There are now two types of notifications:

Blocking notifications

These notifications prevent the player from performing actions while the communication process with the server is taking place.

Non-blocking notifications

Notifications such as checking the internet connection will appear in the top-right corner of the screen, indicating the action currently being performed.

Data Synchronization and Privacy Policies

Starting with version 1.0.4, the game will communicate with the server to check whether it is up to date with any changes requiring user confirmation, such as updates to the privacy policy.

Players will see a notification indicating that the game has started a synchronization process with the server. This process will take only a few seconds and, in most cases, will be barely noticeable.

This synchronization allows us to immediately notify users about changes to the privacy policies.

Due to these changes, all players will need to accept the privacy policies again the first time they launch the game after updating.
