After a previous version full of changes and balancing, the new version 1.0.2 of Master of Cladia arrives, bringing important quality-of-life improvements as well as gameplay updates.
In this new version, a new feat-selection system is introduced in the incubator, a more modern and fair revision of the previous system along with quality-of-life improvements for experimentation, new spells, and much more!
Balance Adjustments:
Feats:
Resurrected Phoenix:
The “Resurrected Phoenix” feat has always had a reputation for being the worst option among the resurrection feats. For this reason, we’ve decided to change certain internal aspects of the feat to try to tip the scales in its favor.
- New:
- When reborn, the mutation points of the unit affected by Resurrected Phoenix will always be treated as positive mutations.
Immortal:
The “Immortal” feat was not only the best option among resurrection feats, but also one of the best feats in the entire game. Because of this, we’ve decided to reduce its potential by penalizing aggressive tactics that relied on the advantage of being able to resurrect on the following turn.

Incubation:
A common complaint from the previous version was how easy it was to lose an incubator due to mutations. In this new version, we have reduced this possibility by distributing stat-change outcomes more evenly.
Wars Between Settlements:
Wars between settlements now use the settlement’s Threat value for calculations, making it less likely for small settlements to defeat fortresses and cities.
Application Changes:
Feat Rarity System:
In this new version, we have introduced a rarity system for feats, which is distributed as follows:
- Common feats (GRAY):

- Uncommon feats (GREEN):

- Rare feats (BLUE):

- Epic feats (PURPLE):

- Unique feats(ORANGE):

- Negative feats (RED):

New 3D Models in the Building Scene
"Crysolite Stone" Building:
-
The building now has a new appearance closer to its Zharkar origins.
"Arcane Orb" Building:
-
The building now has its own 3D model after several versions hidden in the shadows of the mage towers.

Changes to the Population Event Indicator
The active event indicator for a settlement now shows more relevant information by displaying the icon of the corresponding active event instead of an exclamation mark. For settlements with two or more active events, the generic indicator will be shown instead.

Quality-of-Life Improvements for Experimentation
Experimentation will now be much faster thanks to a new quality-of-life improvement: You can now tell the laboratory which spell you want to experiment with. Simply press the "Experiment" button while in the spellbook with an undiscovered spell selected. The laboratory will know which spell you want to experiment with and will automatically select all the ingredients you already know (and have available). Random experimentation will also take these changes into account, making experiments much easier to perform.
New Feat Selection System in the Incubator
The biggest change in this version. After careful consideration, the development team has decided to improve the old feat-acquisition system in the incubator. The new system introduces the possibility of choosing between three different feats of the same rarity. If you want to learn more about the new incubator changes, we recommend reading the dedicated post about these updates.
