Current Games Status 29-04-26

Greetings alchemists!
This time we meet once again to discuss the status of the current games being played. We would like to mention that we will start doing these blogs every 2 weeks instead of every week to streamline things, especially since some weeks there wasn't much to comment on regarding the games.

Just as we did last week in the previous blog, we are going to talk about what has been happening in the games using the public information available to all players so as not to unbalance the match, since in the world of Cladia, information is more valuable than talisman fragments.

This week, the games currently being played are "TranquilitosPeroNoTanNuevitos", "Weekend Massacre", and the recently started "All welcome!". As you may have noticed, "Partida Masiva", "Team Battle!", and "JoinNowBro!" have finally ended.

[INDEX]

1. TranquilitosPeroNoTanNuevitos

TranquilitosPeroNoTanNuevitos is a game prepared for players who have already played some Master Of Cladia matches but haven't yet fully developed their potential or knowledge of the world of Cladia. Therefore, in a match with more expert players, they usually fall behind, which is why we often create games for intermediate-level players.

The "Tranquilitos" part is usually applied to games that are paused over the weekend to give players a bit more of a margin.

In TranquilitosPeroNoTanNuevitos, we find players who participated in previous newbie games, such as Ayami, Grace, Jonay, IkerDica, and Rascor3000. The game features 4 normal regions and 1 neutral region. With 3 players per region, there is only one region with 3 humans and 3 regions with 2 humans and 1 AI.

Since the game has only lasted 7 turns, we don't have much else to talk about. Right now, only Grace and Ayami have managed to collect their region's talisman.

This is the threat ranking during the first 7 turns of the match.

Both Jazmin and LuaLeon33 did not submit their first turn on time, which is why they appear with 0 threat in turn 1.

This is the current in-game ranking:

2. Weekend Massacre

For newcomers, a "massacre" is a type of game where there is only one single normal region where all players appear. In this example, there are 8 players (although Kanendulas has just appeared, which complicates things a bit) in a normal-sized region, so resources are quite limited and these are usually very fast games because all the talismans appear in the same region. Additionally, being all together makes it more likely for eliminations to occur sooner than usual.

To make the massacre even faster, turns pass every 12h and there are no pauses, so this game will likely have ended by the next blog.

This has been the players' threat value throughout the 13 turns of the match.

3. All welcome!

"All welcome!" is a fairly large game, not quite as big as the massive game, but it has 12 players spread across 6 normal regions and 3 neutral regions. Therefore, there are 2 human players and one AI per normal region.

For now, LuaLeon, Romomo, and Toboteb have managed to capture their region's talisman. Since only 4 turns have passed, it doesn't make much sense to present the threat graph. But for the time being, Aarón, Jaxun, and Toboteb are leading the threat level.

4. Massive Game

As we mentioned last week in the previous blog, the massive game is a record-breaking match in the world of Cladia because it is the game with the highest number of human players we have played so far.

This is the threat value throughout the 45 turns of the match.

Since there are many players, we are going to create another graph and another legend for the last 10 turns.

From what we can see, the ranking has shifted since last week. It is easy to deduce what happened: Toboteb snatched the 5 talisman fragments from Juanlu, causing TheFool (Juanlu in this game) to drop in the ranking. Meanwhile, Jaxun has been hatching an evil plan; his threat level has skyrocketed to the point where he has even surpassed Toboteb, who is quite healthy since he only faced a very damaged version of Juanlu's army. Aarón (RataTailandesa in this game) is still trying to recover from his failed attempt to attack TheFool. Other players like Jazmin (Min in this game) and Salchiperro (AlientoDeBallena in this game) are trying to gather resources to at least rival the fearsome Jaxun and Toboteb. Finally, we have Juanlu who, let's remember, suffered a combined attack last week from RataTailandesa and Jaxun; following a temporal instability caused by a description error, both failed miserably in their attack... TheFool was left quite wounded but survived the attack of both alchemists, but only long enough for Toboteb to finish off what was left of TheFool and seize the talismans.

A few turns ago, Toboteb cast "Synthesize Talisman"

For newcomers, Synthesize Talisman is a non-legendary level 6 spell that you can only cast when you have half plus one of the talismans. For example, in this game, since there are a total of 8 talismans, you can only synthesize if you have half (4) plus one, meaning only players with 5 or more talismans can synthesize. In addition to having that strict casting condition, it carries a cost of 100 concentration for 4 turns. For newcomers, yes, it will charge you 100 concentration each of those 4 turns. Furthermore, if you are attacked and they manage to bypass your contingency, it is cancelled. It is also cancelled if you move... If you cancel the spell, you lose everything invested, and if you want to cast it again, you have to start from scratch. Additionally, when you cast it, a banner like this appears for the other players:

¿What is the devastating effect of such a spell? To create an additional talisman fragment, thus potentially exceeding the initial total number of talismans in the match.
Therefore, it seems Toboteb's plan is to synthesize the 3 missing talismans one by one, a somewhat strange plan knowing it will take a total of 12 turns whereas he could cast apotheosis and finish in 9 turns... What could Toboteb have planned? Perhaps he doesn't plan to synthesize all 3 missing fragments and will only synthesize 1 because he is missing those 20 concentration points?

In the end, Toboteb's plan was to "bait" Juan into thinking that Toboteb was going to stay still, but no, Toboteb was going to try to kill Juan; however, there was no combat in the end because Toboteb got the region wrong, thinking Juan's capital was in one area when it was actually in another.

After rebuilding and moving the dragons again, Toboteb managed to attack Jaxun directly and after a chaotic combat, managed to snatch the talisman fragments from Jaxun. Completing the talisman and winning the game at the end of that turn.

This is the in-game ranking on the final turn.

5. Team Battle!

As we mentioned last week, Team Battle! is a rather peculiar game. It is the second game of this type (team-based) played in the world of Master Of Cladia. As we've mentioned before, the match played in this format was the game that lasted the most turns in Master Of Cladia history with a total of 70 turns.

Team Battle has finally finished; in the end, it took just 44 turns to end the team-based game, so it is slightly above the average match duration.

This is the players' threat level until turn 44

Finally, team Toboteb-Tim won but... How did it happen?
The "tortugo" team (Marc and Gerard) decided to move to try to take the talismans from Toboteb. Toboteb, astutely, let them break his capital by moving his dragons to the "tortugo" team's region. Yes, when Gerard attacked he found Toboteb's tower empty, so Toboteb gave the talismans to Gerard but positioned himself so that Marc and Gerard, to defend themselves, had to use "Return to the Fold"—a concentration cost that was going to take its toll...
Toboteb took the talismans from Marc without any problems, but Gerard sent his dragons to limbo so there was a 3-turn recession. Finally, Toboteb went against his partner Gerard... Ultimately, Toboteb also ended up winning the combat and taking possession of all remaining talisman fragments.

Not without first receiving a surprise: Ayami astutely attacked Toboteb's capital the moment he obtained all the talismans, so that if she had won that combat, she would have taken all the talismans and won. Unfortunately, Ayami could not defeat Toboteb in his capital because Toboteb's best dragon had Phoenix.

So when it died in the combat with Gerard, it appeared instantly in Toboteb's capital, and that baby was quite a game-changer in the combat. Yes, even at 1 year old, it was a dragon that made a difference because of the amount of feats and buffs it possessed... Many alchemists have proclaimed that Phoenix should be nerfed so that the baby appears at the end of the turn and does not defend you in both combats as in this case... If it were a 3-player siege on Toboteb's capital, the phoenix could have defended all 3 attacks; each time it died it would be born at age 1 again, ready to defend in the next combat...

Returning to the rankings, since this game is team-based, we are going to create another graph with the joint threat (that is, the sum of the threat of the group members) and the average threat of each team (that is, the sum of the threat of both members divided by 2). Since there are already teams with dead members, the dead are considered as 0 threat.

With "Joint Threat" we can see how well the group is doing by its "separate" members, and with average threat we can see how the group is doing as a whole.

We have made some small graphs with Jaxun's magic book "Eksel" to be able to visually compare the groups' joint threat.

As with the average threat

This week both the player ranking and the team ranking have taken a big turn, because logically, having lost battles, both members of team Marc&Gerard have lowered their threat significantly.

6. Join Now Bro!

As we mentioned in our blog, last week we were blessed by the gods of Cladia with a new update that also brought a new mechanic: "Relevant Experimentation."

If you want to know all the details of the publication, I'll leave the summary blog here. If you want to keep up with how the new Relevant Experimentation mechanic works, I'll leave the link to the FAQ explaining it here.

To test the new version and especially the new mechanic (it is only available in games that started AFTER the update), the Join Now Bro! game has been created.
The game has nothing special: 8 human players, 4 normal regions, and 2 neutral regions. No special rules other than testing the new experimentation and its chaotic effects.

The game ended in turn 34 with Jaxun snatching the last talisman fragments from Aarón. Therefore, he completed the talisman and won the game.

This was the evolution of threat throughout the 34 turns that the match lasted.

 * Color and threat legend at turn 34

We already see how the match ended, with another crushing victory for the evil Jaxun... But how did it happen?
Last week we had left off with only 3 players alive: Jaxun, Aarón, and Marc. Basically, Marc stayed still in his region doing nothing throughout the whole match except for the last turns in which he finished off the rookie Rumomo. At the moment when only the 3 of them remained, both Jaxun and Aarón went for him. Jaxun arrived first, so he took the prize easily.
Then, Jaxun was constantly baiting attacks from Aarón by moving VISIBLE dragons to his region to make Aarón waste turns and concentration on attacking overconfidently or hunkering down in his tower waiting for Jaxun to attack... But in reality, it was all a ploy to lich several of his dragons.

Finally, when Aarón realized the trap, it was simply too late... Aarón for his part knew he stood no chance in a fight against his liches... The only way to have a minimal chance of winning was if the combat happened in his tower, with his alchemist and his golems... so he went to look for the missing talisman to try and lock themselves in and synthesize the missing fragments, but Jaxun attacked him after he collected the talisman.

Although you already know how the combat ended (with Jaxun's victory), if anyone wants, they can watch the combat on our YouTube channel at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmuzdEBwWqI

In the final battle, Aaron simply could not do anything; Jaxun's liches ran over him... And finally, Jaxun won by having all the talismans.

8. Conclusion

That is all for this week alchemists. Several games have ended but others have started; stay tuned to the official discord and whatsapp channels to sign up for the upcoming games, we are waiting for you.
